The winter blahs are eating me ALIVE. Just... bleck! Being subjected to this kind of weather for this long should be outlawed. I am soooooooo ready for spring!!
You know what my winter blah's favorite food is? Creativity. It gets in my right hemisphere and just starts chomping away. My brain literally feels like it's nothing like mush most days. I... just got nothin'. Guess how many photos I've taken since Christmas. Ugh.
So in an attempt to fight those evil blahs, even though I had no desire to take photos, I decided to use pics I already had and do something with them. It was better than nothing. I had to compromise with my poor lifeless brain. And though my camera probably hates me from lack of use and is moping in the corner collecting dust, I promised it I'd try again very soon.
Here's a couple scrapbook pages I did.

HOLY CRAP SAY WHAT???
Yes, I actually did some digi-scrapping. I've been trying to do it for years, but always got supremely frustrated with it. Nothing ever looked the way I wanted, and I could waste a whole afternoon working on one measly page and in the end just delete it. Having infinite options for making a layout were just overwhelming for me, and I psyched myself out, really. Once I decided to simplify simplify SIMPLIFY what I was trying to convey, it came together very quickly. So no one is more surprised than me that I actually picked it up again. Hopefully I'll be able to keep it up, because I forgot how fun it is. :)

Ugh, I know! Haven't blogged in forever. I realized the other day that it's now mid-February and I haven't even posted Christmas pics yet. Just shameful. Life has been a whirlwind since the holidays and it hasn't slowed down, in fact it's only picking up speed. Guh.
Anyways, this is just a quickie post to say that I'm not dead to the blogosphere, and that hopefully I can get back on track with posting semi-regularly.

Hi. I'm Melissa.
Welcome to my humble abode on the interweb!
I'm a wife and stay-at-home mom. My life is not exactly thrilling, but it is my life. And I choose to love it. Every day.
My dream is to become a professional photographer (one day...), but for now, I only aspire to gain experience and learn learn LEARN.
I write about my life here and there, post things that catch my fancy, and random things that distract me.
I appreciate any and all feedback, I just want to improve on my fledgling photo skills, and on myself in general.
I hope you enjoy.
Emails are like chocolate chip cookies, made of ones and zeros.
